‘experiencing space and place’ in architecture.
Exploration of spatial typologies and poetics in architecture; and secondly, the concept of neighborhood and community and studying design of different spatial typologies. Also engaging with the spirit of place "genius loci" inherent within the site, the site topography, history and socio-cultural events.
PROJECT 1
POETIC JOURNEY STRUCTURE
The structure allows the user to experience the different phases of the paddy life through the use of light and shadow modifying element. The journey translates to the paddies germinating from the ground to eroding at the end of their lifespans then it continues in a circular loop. A concentric typology surrounds a centre reflecting water feature.

The Discovery Center (Visitor Center for Jalan Terusan Utama Parit 4, Kampung Sg Hj Dorani)
Legacy of Tales is a visitor centre to materialise the hidden and unique rich history of the site. The visitor centre inplements architectural modifying elements to narrate the history in the gallery. The vernacular malay-esque timber on stilts and expressive roofs to blend with the vast and quiet paddy village to bring out its history and essence to the visitors. A modern touch symbolises the past and present existing in the village.
